A day which Bangladesh will remember for a long time. First ever Test series victory for Bangladesh against Pakistan. They whitewashed Pakistan in a two-match test series at Pakistan’s home. They performed amazingly with the bat and bowl. Najmul Hossain Shanto proved to be a very good captain for Bangladesh; he has achieved many milestones in his career. For this series, Bangladesh trusted its senior players like Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hassan, and Taskin Ahmed. It helped them a lot in this series, and they convincingly defeated the strong Pakistani side.
Mushfiqur Rahim’s great performance in 1st Test
Mushfiqur Rahim made a great comeback in the Bangladesh side. At a good batting wicket, he came to bat when Bangladesh needed to score a big total in answer to Pakistan’s 448 runs in the 1st innings. He was so good with the bat and never gave a single chance to Pakistani bowlers. He played a masterclass knock and scored runs all over the ground. Pakistani bowlers were frustrated because they failed to get him out by trying all their strategies. He scored 191 runs and just nearly missed another double hundred.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz is the best performer of the series
Mehidy Hasan Miraz, what a great player he is. He was phenomenal in this series with his all-round skills. Awarded as the player of the series because of his 10 wickets and 155 runs in this series. In the 1st test, he scored 78 runs and in the 2nd innings, he bowled really well and took 4 wickets along with Shakib Al Hasan and won the match for his team. In the 2nd test again, he scored an important 78 runs with Litton Das when the team was down and out for 26-6. He got a 5-fer in the first inning and set the tone for winning the match.
Bangladesh’s pace attack
Bangladesh had an inexperienced pace attack in this series. Taskin Ahmed made his comeback in the 2nd test match. While in the 1st test they were playing a completely inexperienced pace attack, but still they performed really well. The prominent performance was in the 2nd innings of the 2nd test, when all 10 wickets were taken by pacers. Hasan Mahmud got a 5-fer in the inning, Nahid Rana, with his express pace, got 4 wickets, and Taskin Ahmed got 1 wicket.
