The Bangladesh tour of Pakistan 2024 starts with the 1st Test at Rawalpindi Stadium on August 21. Pakistan has announced the playing 11 for the match, and Bangladesh is yet to announce their 11. Both teams look strong on paper. Pakistan is going with some of its young players, while Bangladesh has opted for its experienced players.
Pakistan’s playing 11
Abdullah Shafique, Saim Ayub, Shan Masood (c), Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel (vc), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Salman Ali Agha, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Khurram Shahzad, and Mohammad Ali.
There are some surprises in this Pakistan 11 that is announced for the 1st Test. Pakistan is going with 4 fast bowlers and no specialist spinner. They have opted for all pace in this match.Saim Ayub‘s inclusion is surprising because of his previous form. Muhammad Huraira was a far better and more deserving option. In the bowling unit, Mir Hamza is missing; he has been one of the top domestic performers for Pakistan for a long time. Muhammd Ali‘s inclusion in the squad is a good decision.
Bangladesh’s probables for playing 11
Najmul Hossain Shanto is the captain. In other players, we can see Liton Das, Shakib Al Hassan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haque,Zakir Hasan,Mehidy Hasan Miraz , Taijul Islam, Khaled Ahmed, Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud.
Squad alterations by both teams
Pakistan rested Kamran Ghulam and Abrar Ahmed for the first test. Amir Jamal is dropped from the squad because of his fitness. Bangladesh rested Taskin Ahmed from the main squad for the 1st Test and added him to Bangladesh A because he has not played a Test match since June 2022.
Pitch Report
A lush green pitch is ready for the first Test match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. PCB ordered the pitch curator to prepare a green pitch for this match. PCB recently hired Tony Hemming from Australia as the Cheif Pitch Curator for 2 years. It looks like he is doing his job perfectly as the Rawalpindi pitch is looking similar to the Australian pitches which are a heaven for fast bowlers.
