The West Indies have clinched another victory in the T20 series. South Africa won the test series, but WI is making a comeback in the T20 series. After winning the 1st and 2nd T20s, the West Indies now have an undefeatable lead of 2-0 in the series. Match Overview
West Indies batted first this time after a comfortable chase in the 1st T20. Again, their openers Shai Hope and Alick Athanaze had a good start and set an opening stand of 41 runs. Shai Hope played a good innings scored 41 runs. N. Pooran failed to fire today but Rovman Powell and Romario Shepherd played well and scored 35 and 29 runs, respectively.
WI put a decent target of 180 runs on board for RSA to chase. South Africa openers started the innings brilliantly R.Rickelton and R.Hendricks smashed WI bowlers in the Powerplay. They scored 63 runs in 28 balls. Captain Aiden Markram got out on a score of just 19 runs. Stubbs and Van der Dussen put on a partnership, but they slowed the run rate.
At a point, RSA was easily winning this game but the tables turned as both the set batsmen got out. S.Joseph and R. Shepherd bowled exceptional spells and didn’t let RSA reach the target. They were all out for just 149 runs from 3–129. It was a great comeback by WI with the bowl. R. Shepherd got 3-15 and S.Joseph got 3-31.
